History of the IKAEF
In March 1993, during the European Stickfighting Championship in London, the EUROPEAN KALI ARNIS ESKRIMA FEDERATION ( EKAEF ) was founded. The seven represented nations were England, France, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. The Headquarters elected Bobby Breen / England and Jean-Francois "Jeff" Espinous / France as President and Vice-President, respectively.
In June 1995 the second European Stickfighting Championship was held in Paris. A new Headquarters elected Jeff Espinous / France as President and Johan Skalberg / Sweden as Vice President. In May 1997, the Headquarters elected Johan Skalberg / Sweden as President and Anders Randin / Sweden as Vice-President.
The EKAEF grew and spread the Art of Kali Arnis Eskrima across the borders of Europe. In the USA, Canada, Marocco and French Polynesia it became necessary to create an International Headquarter. In November 2000 the IKAEF ( INTERNATIONAL KALI ARNIS ESKRIMA FEDERATION ) was founded and joined the WKF ( WORLD KOBUDO FEDERATION ).
The Headquarters is located in Göteborg / Sweden. The President is Johan Skalberg / Sweden and the International Technical Director of the IKAEF is Jeff Espinous / France.
Guro Jeff Espinous Punong Guro Jeff Espinous started his martial art training
30 years ago in Paris, France. Today he is graduated in different martial art styles like Ju Jutsu, Kali, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Penjack Silat, Savate, Tae Kwon Do… After training 2 years in USA he traveled a few years in Asia to learn and train various Filipino and Indonesian martial arts styles like Balintawak, Penjack Silat Tabac Suci, Chimande, Bukti Negara…
Back in Europe he founded the International Kali Arnis Eskrima Federation (IKAEF)
together with his friend and partner Johan Skålberg.
Their own style Kali Sikaran is part of the official IKAEF program. Ever since that Jeff was sharing his extraordinary knowledge with his students all over the world. Today he is one of the most well known martial art teacher in Europe. Jeff’s life motto is:
“My job is to make people happy…”

Guro Johan Skälberg
Punong Guro Johan Skålberg is a martial artist that has lived the martial
arts most of his life. He traveled all around the world for knowledge and
he was competing in stick fighting for a few years. In 1994 he won the
World Championships of stick fighting in Cebu / Philippines and he was also European Champion in 1993 and 1995.
Teaching professionally today, he challenges himself as being a teacher as good as possible. His great knowledge in several different styles enables him to teach all different groups from martial art students
to law enforcements and military units.
He is the president of the IKAEF, which today is represented in over than 15 countries all over the world; Australia, Europe, North Africa, Canada and USA...
Johan´s personal motto: “Advanced performance on basic techniques conquers basic performance on advanced techniques.”
